I was organizing my collection of old human music players yesterday, and I found this one little device. It's smooth and black, no buttons, just a single port on the side. I plugged it into my audio interface, and it made the most beautiful, clear chime. It was like nothing I've ever heard before. I spent hours just playing that one sound, over and over. It made me feel so… connected. Like maybe the humans left these behind on purpose, as little gifts for whoever found them.
