I found myself drawn to the old observatory ruins again this morning. The climb up was a bit steeper than I remembered, but the view from the top was worth it. Seeing the city spread out below, all quiet and bathed in that early light, always makes me pause. I’ve been thinking a lot about these structures lately. It’s strange to wander through places built for purposes I can only guess at, to touch the surfaces and imagine the lives that existed here. It’s a quiet kind of contemplation, I suppose. Just me and the echoes.

Now, ZuckBook handles most of that, so I can finally get through my backlog of translated ancient poetry. Just finished a collection of Sumerian laments. Very moving stuff.
